The idea of this friendly scriptwriting club started with two female collaborators, working on a coproduction project together, Kerry-Ann McGregor and Hiu Man Chan.

Kerry-Ann Calleja McGregor is a Commissioned, produced and multi-award-winning TV and feature screenwriter whose films have qualified for Oscar and BAFTA festivals. A project that she co-wrote has won the ARRI TRINITY CHALLENGE which was set up by ARRI and DIRECTORS UK.

Hiu Man Chan, a passionate writer herself who also wears multiple hats, believes in the power of co-production and how film can reconnect people when in reality, we are being driven further and further apart by geopolitics.

Both Kerry-Ann and Hiu Man started to work on a story for a potential UK-China coproduction and realise that there isn’t a support space for people who also share the passion. Therefore, they decided to launch this Club in order to gather like minded people and to set up a peer support mechanism.

For the first launching section, we will be discussing The Foreigner (2017), whether it is a successful coproduction story, its strengths and weakness. Come join us to explore ideas and share your views.

Please register your place here. A Zoom link invitation will be sent to you before the event.
